About

Dr. Hasan Mehraj is a plant molecular biologist and geneticist, currently serving as a JSPS postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tokyo (UTokyo) in Japan. Dr. Mehraj holds two Ph.D. degrees in Agricultural Science: one from Kobe University (2022) and another from Ehime University (2017), Japan. He earned his BSc and MS degrees in Agriculture and Horticulture, respectively, from Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University in Bangladesh.

His research focuses on plant breeding, genetics, epigenetics, plant nutritropism, and plant tissue culture. His work includes identifying stress- and heterosis-related QTLs and genes in Brassica rapa (Brassica vegetables), as well as plant tissue culture in orchids. Currently, he is working on physiological and molecular mechanisms in plant nutritropism in rice.

Beyond his research, he has reviewed over 100 manuscripts for various reputable journals, including those published by Springer Nature, Elsevier, Frontiers, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, and MDPI, reflecting his active engagement and recognized expertise in the scientific community.

He is serving as an Editor in reputed journals like Industrial and Crop Products, Scientific African, Next Research, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, and BMC Agriculture. He is actively involved in editing services as a guest editor for special issues in journals such as Frontiers and Plant Science and Plants.

Dr. Mehraj is contributing significantly to advancing the field of plant science, particularly in molecular breeding and epigenetic regulation. Please visit the following website for details about him. https://researchmap.jp/hmehraj?lang=en
