In this 68th episode of the Biggani.org interview series, I spoke with Dr. Kafi. I first met Dr. Kafi at the National University of Singapore. At the time, I was working as a researcher in the Biomedical Department. One day, there was an informal gathering of PhD students at the university, and that’s where I got introduced to Dr. Kafi. He made a lasting impression on me from the very first day as a genuinely kind person. After that, we lost touch for a long time. Suddenly, I heard that he had completed his research and returned to Bangladesh to join the Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) as a faculty member. At the same time, he is also conducting significant research work in Bangladesh. I truly respect him for having the courage to return to Bangladesh after completing his higher studies. I was honestly amazed to learn that he is not only teaching but also actively engaged in research. Since I also have experience teaching and researching at a private university in Bangladesh, I could somewhat relate to the challenges he faces. Finally, on the night of November 18, 2022, I got the chance to interview him.
